Women's Hoops Splits at Vegas Hoopla

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team traveled to Las Veags, Nev. to compete in the Las Vegas Hoopla. After falling their first game to Muskingum, 65-63, the Eagles went on to defeat Lycoming78-60 in the second game.

Benedictine shot 41.5 percent from the field against Muskingum but it wasn't enough as the Eagles were defeated, 65-63, in their first game of the tournament.

Both teams were tied at the half at 27 but it was Muskingum who came out ahead in the second half to take home the 65-63 win.

Tracey Walsh led all players with 17 points and also tallied four rebounds while Michelle Gaede scored 15 points. Kam Haifleigh totaled nine points and eight rebounds.

Amanda Dobbins led Muskingum with 11 points and a game high 15 rebounds.

Against Lycoming, BenU used a 34-27 halftime lead to go on to win 70-68. Gaede and Walsh led all players with 17 points while Jillian Lipman scored 11 points. Haifleigh totaled nine points and eight rebounds.

The Eagles are back in action on December 30 when they travel to North Central College for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
